🧳【第1話】出発編 ✈️準備＆飛行機 Episode 1: Departure ✈️— Getting Ready
今年私の母が70歳になるので、どんな古希のお祝いをしようか考えていました。以前より海外に行ったことがないと話していたので、思い切って韓国に一緒に旅行に行くことを提案しました。最初は驚いていましたが「そうね、行こうか♡」と乗り気になったところですぐにパスポートの申請をお願いしました。2025年の6月のことです。
Since my mother is turning 70 this year, I had been thinking about how to celebrate her koki milestone. She had mentioned before that she had never been abroad, so I suggested that we take a trip to Korea together. At first she was surprised, but when she said, “Yes, let’s go♡,” I immediately asked her to apply for a passport.That was back in June 2025.
パスポートの申請はオンラインが便利 Online passport applications are really convenient.
私と夫と上の子はパスポートの期限が切れていて、下の子は初めてだったので新規申請の手続きを進めました。私と夫はマイナンバーカードとマイナポータルでオンライン申請しました。
写真もマイナポータルのアプリ上で撮れました。夫と互いに顔写真を撮り合いましたが、恥ずかしかったり笑ってしまったり、写りも写真屋さんには劣るので気になる方は別の方法をお試しされるといいかと思います。
子供はマイナンバーカードの更新時期が被りパスポートが間に合うか不安だったので窓口での申請をしました。子供用のパスポートの写真もアプリで撮ったものをコンビニで印刷し既定の大きさに切ったもの使用しましたが、問題なく申請が通りました。申請時期は旅行の3か月前の8月でした。参照：国内からオンライン申請する｜外務省
My husband, our older child, and I all had expired passports, and our younger child needed one for the first time. So we began the application process together.
My husband and I applied online using our My Number Cards through the Mynaportal app.
We even took our ID photos with the app — taking each other’s pictures was a bit embarrassing and we kept laughing, and of course the quality isn’t as good as a professional photo studio. So if you care about how your photo looks, you might want to choose another option.
For our kids, the timing overlapped with their My Number Card renewal, and we were worried the passports wouldn’t be ready in time, so we applied at the counter instead. We took their passport photos with an app, printed them at a convenience store, cut them to the required size, and surprisingly, there were no issues at all with the application.We submitted everything in August, about three months before our trip.

今回の韓国旅行のメンバーは、私の母(70歳)、夫、私、小学生の2人の5人です。私の父は韓国に何度か行ったことがあることと仕事のため今回は犬🐩と一緒にお留守番です。
10月末から11月頭の2泊3日の旅程で、ツアーではなく飛行機とホテルのみExpediaで予約しあとは自分たちのフリープランで計画しました。Expediaで予約時のトラブルもありましたので後日書きたいと思います。
結果からいうと、ツアーのほうが無駄がなく子連れ＆お年寄りには向いていると思います。理由は私たちはこの旅行3日間で地下鉄メインで移動したのですが、3３キロ近く歩いていたからです😵お母さん、疲れさせてごめんね～😅 母は「こんなに歩いたの久しぶりだわ～✨」と疲れたけど楽しかったそうです。
Our Korea trip was a five-person adventure: my mom (70), my husband, me, and our two elementary schoolers. My dad has visited Korea several times and had work during our travel dates, so he stayed home with our toy poodle 🐩 this time.
We traveled for three days and two nights, from late October to early November. Instead of joining a tour, we booked only our flights and hotel through Expedia and planned the rest of the trip freely on our own.We also had a little trouble when booking through Expedia, so I’ll write about that in another post. But to be honest, I now feel that joining a tour would have been much more efficient — especially when traveling with kids and an elderly parent.
Why? Because during our three-day trip, we mainly used the subway and ended up walking almost 33 kilometers in total. 😵‼️Mom, I’m sorry for making you walk so much… 😅But she said, “I haven’t walked this much in years!” and even though she was tired, she still had a great time.
